Jill says:
An interesting thing happened in November. Usually I would purposely make a point of taking some photos specifically for Lifescrap. In the month of November, I didn't take any photos 'specifically' for November. I was a little concerned that I would have to wing it on quite a few, thinking I wouldn't have taken enough photos on different days. As it turns out, I had more than enough and actually had to choose to leave some photos out. So here is my Lifescrap for the month of November.
I am also looking forward to our planning night tonight. Mel and I have some quite different ideas for where Lifescrap might take us next year. Tonight we are going to sit down and plan so we are ready to go on January 1. It's very exciting. I have already been practicing with what I am going to do and I might put up a snippet on my own blog to wet the appetite before January 1.

And triple Ta da!!!

Melissa says:
And finally I can put the entire month of November to rest.

Double Ta da!!!

Melissa says:
Here I am completely caught up. No months half done. No photo's laying dormant and gathering dust. It feels like a massive weight has been lifted. The pressure I put on myself is crazy!!!

Ta da!!!

Melissa says:
Here's October all squared away with Novemeber hot on it's tail. I guess Jill might be onto something. Though I often find that sometimes a project can be a great distraction at the best time.

One less and counting.....

Melissa says:
It's been only a matter of hours and I have managed to get all of my journalling caught up for everything and finish October. Here it is as I get started on Novemeber.

October, November and December in unison...

Melissa says:
Right now I deserve a good ribbing as I really feel like I've dropped the ball on my Lifescrap album. With only a matter of weeks left to go, I've pulled myself out of the slump and have cracked the whip overhead. For the past few days, I have been finalising the title pages for all 3 months at once, embellishing pages, printing photo's like a demon and putting it all together. Tomorrow is all about typing up my journalling notes and that should make a huge dent in the pile gathering on my workspace. Jill always says I work best under pressure. I always laugh. But lets test the theory anyway. Watch this space... I'm really close to achieving the triple threat.

Where Lifescrap Takes Me

Jill says:
Thanks to a fantastic scrapping retreat, organised by http://www.scrapbookingwarehouse.com.au , I have pumped out two pages today. Only single layouts, admittedly. Two more than I have done on any other given day in November prior to the retreat. I thought I would post this one as I wanted to share how the photos of Lifescrap365 are proving to be very special memories. Originally, this photo was simply to record the day. It now is a record of my and my son's lengthy desire to plant sunflowers and it is also a record of that day when I really needed a pick me up and looked out into the garder and there was this little ray of sunshine shining back at me. Your photos don't always have to be of people or places to record your journey. Something as simple as a flower can be utilised to record passions, moments in time, thoughts, feelings, etc.
As I had been very busy and hadn't checked in with the blog for a while, I looked in today to check out Mel's October Lifescrap365. Sadly, it wasn't here. A quick text message to check if everything was ok uncovered a busy time for a lady who scraps for a living and is at present pumping out the pages with another goal in mind. She says she might have it up by December 31....Can you wait that long? I know I can't. Come on, Mel. Maybe just do half of what you usually do. It wouldn't matter what you did, I know I would be in awe of it.

Too Many Photos Again

Jill says:
Another bumper month as far as photos goes. It was a busy month in our life and this time, the photos represented that. Sometimes I get busy and am not motivated to take photos or the things we do don't lend themselves to photo opportunities. October certainly didn't fall into that category. And November is shaping up to be excellent for photo opportunities as well! Have a fantastic month.

Project Motivation?

Melissa says:
September was quite a month. Lack of motivation and inspiration pretty much sums it up. It was the first time all year that I had not done something until the month was over. The photo's were taken, notes were jotted down but scrapping wise, absolutely nothing.

Eventually, the mojo and creatvity returned. I must admit, I am not usually a project girl. Jill is the one who loves a big gift album, I'm a page by page kind of person and the whole Lifescrap 365 concept has pushed my concentration beyond it's limits.

August & September altogether!

Jill says:
Ok, no more excuses required. I made cleaning off my table a priority yesterday afternoon and low and behold, today you can actually see what colour it is! With my scrapping space all cleared off the creativity (well, if you could call it that; maybe motivation is a better word for it) flowed. So finally, August is done and dusted and what's that down below? I do believe it's September as well.
I guess that's the beauty of keeping it simple. It only takes about an hour to print out photos and journalling and stick it all together once it's all planned. I already had the nine backing cards done.
I thought I would be struggling to find photos to record even the eight main events of September. I obviously had the camera out more than I remembered. Thanks goodness for the early weeks of the month. Phew!

Nothing Here

Jill says:
Well, sadly, this is still what August's Lifescrap looks like. I think I had it to this stage on the 30th of August and then mayhem set in.
I was lying in bed this morning, feeling guilty about not having posted my August Lifescrap and so here it is, unfinished, but still posted!
And why haven't I posted you might ask? Scroll down.......
This is what my scrapping space looks like at present. So I'm also sorry to report that September's will still be a ways off as well. My table is covered with memorabilia I brought back from cleaning out my parent's belongings. They passed away 10 years ago, and it has taken me this long to bring myself to be able to do the big clean out. I did some initial stuff with clothes etc but what was left fitted into a double car garage and a huge shed. Anyway, lots to do. Will post when I can.....

Where O' Where

Melissa says:
I get the distinct feeling that my partner in crime has too many photo's to choose from last month. I was feeling quite chuffed that my entry was actually done early but now I'm itching to see Jill's too.

Only 4 months to go

Melissa says:
When Jill and I spoke today she was working on her page from my Trend Studio class on pleats, tucks and ruching. She was so excited because it was inspiring to her and the page was in an entirely different creative place than she probably envisioned. I always love it when my students come with an open mind, heaps of photo's to choose from and willingness to try something new. For me, that is exactly what scrapbooking is all about.

Milestones

Melissa says:
This month was a really inspired month for me. I have constantly worked on layout after layout, challenge after challenge and found so many things around me that inspired creativity continually.
A big shout out to Jill for keeping up the pace of a photo of a day. Not sure what she concluded from the 31 day slog but I think it gives a much broader look to her massive month.
With September beginning, it makes me very aware that Lifescrap 365 for 2010 is almost on the final stretch and I have started to entertain some ideas for next year. Nothing set in stone yet but the control freak in me likes to make a head start.

Scrap Day

Jill says:
31/8/10 Today my friend Sandra and I were students in a class taught by Mel (my blog partner!). It was a great class about pleating and ruching (I think that's how you spell it). Here is a snapshot of the page I started (it's not complete yet-I'm still working on it tonight). What a great way to finish my month.

Circle Journal

Jill says:
30/8/10 Today I worked on my circle journal for our November retreat. Here is a sneak peak at the journal. It's called "Words To Live By" and the theme is your life's motto. It is certainly a work in progress. I just hope I'm ready in November with all my pages for all the journals.

Spring has Sprung (almost)

Jill says:
29/8/10 Today we paid a visit to the local nursery and bought some spring/summer plants in anticipation of the months to come. Some lettuces and strawberries in the edible line and pansies, petunias and geraniums for colour. Now we just have to remember to water them!

Gold Coast Show

Jill says:

28/8/10 No I did not go on this ride. It looked freaky. We had a fun time on the dodgem cars though and watching the fireworks. There was loads of fun stuff to do today at the Gold Coast Show

Pub Lunch

Jill says:
27/8/10 This is where we had our pub lunch today. Pretty swanky for a pub hey. My husband asked my son and myself to join him and a couple of friends on their traditional Friday pub lunch at The Grand. Good friends, good food, great family!

Preparation

Jill says:
26/8/10 Today I spent a small amount of time updating my Lifescrap 365 diary. You see, Mel gave me the idea of buying a month to an opening diary and writing in it each time I took a photo for Lifescrap 365 and journal at the same time so it's all ready at the end of the month.
This month I have just been doing it straight to the blog and as I am still planning to physically scrap 8 photos the traditional way with journalling, I thought today I would take the time to work out so far which photos I need to print and write down the journalling from those days. It was a welcome distraction/balance from what I have been working on.

All Work

Jill says:
25/8/10 Well this is what I worked on today. I am working on a challenging project at the moment that is represented by these files. I volunteered for a couple of hours this morning then came home to try to take some more action on my project. I interrupted the action with some wonderful phone calls with great friends and then nose back to the grindstone.

Soup Weather

Jill says:
24/8/10 Usually I make soup all winter. This year has been very different in many ways including the fact that I haven't made soup at all this winter, until today. You see, my son doesn't like soup. It's not the flavour, or the look, it's the consistency. He doesn't do runny food. My husband on the other hand, loves pumpkin soup. I have been promising him pumpkin soup all winter. So today I finally got around to making it. It was yum. Had it with spelt garlic bread and some parmesan cheese with a dollop of sour cream on top. Well, I think that's it for this year as far as soup goes!
I have to say, I do welcome the end of August. It's not that I don't have things I can photograph. Let's just say, I'm looking forward to boring you less next month.

A Treasured Piece

Jill says:
23/8/10 I bought this piece of furniture back from my parent's house today. It's an old marble top washstand. I'm not sure how old it is but I do remember it being in our shearer's quarters for most of my childhood. I am fortunate enough to be able to keep this piece from my parent's antique collection to remember them by.

Bathtime!

Jill says
22/8/10 This little cutie is one of the dogs who call my sister-in-law Mum. Today was their day to have a haircut and a bath. They are gorgeous dogs. This guy's name is Willy and the other puppy's name is Lolly. They will need to wear their knitted coats to bed tonight to keep them warm.

Winner!

Jill says:
21/8/10 The boy won his basketball semi final. So they are straight into the semi final. It's a three week wait which is a bit of bad timing. Gotta stay at peak performance! He had an awesome game-the best of the season.

It's Raining, It's Pouring!

Jill says:
20/8/10 It was lovely to go to sleep last night listening to the sound of rain and waking up to it this morning as well. I love the sound of rain on the tin roof of our pergola. It makes a pretty pattern on the surface of our pool as well. I wonder how long it will hang around for.....

Family Time

Jill says:
19/8/10 Well I guess you gotta take family time any way you can get it....
